Our Services

Oak Hill Anesthesia Services partners with over 50 dental offices throughout Northern Virginia to bring exceptional anesthesia care to every kind of patient.

Pediatric Care

Caring for children requires a compassionate approach to anesthesia that will minimize fear of the dentist.  Our team works with the family to plan the safest and easiest approach to going off to sleep in order to complete the dental restoration. Having a well formed partnership with the parents helps us insure that the procedure day goes smoothly and safely.

Complex Medical Care

Many patients have complex medical histories that make it challenging and potentially unsafe for their dentists to provide sedation.  Our team will work with each individual and their physicians to determine if they can be safely cared for in the office. Our goal is to prepare each patient to have the best experience possible, during anesthesia and in recovery.  Many dentists would prefer to have the additional support and expertise of physician anesthesiologists, who are the "go to" physicians for medical management during surgeries in hospitals.

Special Needs Care

Caring for children and adults with specials needs such as autism, down syndrome and other behavioral disorders, requires a thorough look at their medical history as well as flexibility in the approach to anesthesia.  Our team is highly skilled at determining if the office setting is appropriate for their care and planning with the family to find the easiest approach to providing anesthesia for their dental treatment.

Routine Care for High Anxiety Patients

There are many people that have had bad experiences in the dental office.  Some are scared of needles and shots, while others have experienced pain and difficulty becoming numb with local anesthesia.  Many develop a life-long fear of the dentist.  They may find it hard to get routine care due to their fear.  These patients benefit from anesthesia to make this first experience back smoother and build confidence for further routine visits with their dentist.

Adult Care

Many patients prefer to be asleep for the duration of their dental procedure.  They may prefer not to hear the sounds associated with the dental work and want to simply wake up when it is completed. General anesthesia often makes it possible to get many different treatments completed in one sitting, which can save time and money in the long run.
